Our Services
Our facility offers free drop in play and sensory stimulation, gently used clothing, and hosts many free programs but these things are just the icing on the cake. The services that really matter are the love, support, acceptance, and care that we desire to share with anyone who walks through our doors. If you are new to town and don't know anyone, if you are going through challenges, or if you just need to talk, we are always here to lend a listening ear, give a hug, or share some encouragement and support.
Whether our formal list of services will meet your needs, or whatever help we can provide, please stop in or give us a call, and we will offer you whatever support we are able to or help you find the support needed.
Drop in Play

We strive to provide a safe and inviting atmosphere for you and your children to enjoy, rain or shine. We provide two free drop in play rooms open 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday, geared toward 1-5 year olds! While in the play rooms, children must be supervised at all times and we encourage you to play and participate with your children. Activities and toys include swings, slides, scooters, climbing equipment, balls, dolls, books, construction tools, a kitchen set, trucks, and much more.
Free Programs

Nobody's Perfect Parenting Program
Nobody’s Perfect is a facilitated parenting program for parents of children from birth to age five. The program is designed to meet the needs of parents who are young, single, socially or geographically isolated, or who have low income or limited formal education offered in communities by facilitators to help support parents and young children.
Snoezelen Room

Each of us receive information from our senses. How we process and interpret this information guides our actions. When the information is not processed and organized in an appropriate way, our responses may be inappropriate and result in a variety of consequences. Tantrums, rocking, hand flapping, and even sleeping can be a result of disordered sensory processing.
The Snoezelen room uses sensory equipment, including light effects, sounds, and tactile sensations, to provide a soothing environment for sensory stimulation. A few key pieces of equipment in the room are the bubble tube, hanging swing, and ball pit.
This room is beneficial to people of all ages and abilities and is particularly beneficial for individuals who have autism, developmental disabilities, dementia, or sensory over responsivity, under responsivity, sensory seeking, sensory, fluctuating, or sensory jumbling.
The Family Place is extremely grateful to the Weyburn Composite High School for their donation of all sensory equipment. Originally established by Jodie Abel, it is our hope to meet her wish by having you, the community, use this wonderful resource.
Clothes Closet

We understand that children grow fast. We have a clothes closet filled with gently used children's clothing and some maternity items. Our clothing is free of charge! Come in for clothing for babies and children, boys and girls, up to age 12. We have clothes, shoes, hats, blankets, and more. Come in and check it out!
We always gratefully accept gently used children's clothing donations.
